Small wind energy

Hybrid small wind and solar PV systems for greater efficiency

At Voltaic we combine small wind installations with solar PV installations to make the most of the renewable energy sources available 24 hours a day.

At Voltaic we combine solar panels for generating electricity with small wind technology, creating hybrid systems that let us make the most of the renewable energy opportunities available. In some locations, the wind flow is ideal for installing wind turbines that complement solar energy.

How does solar PV complement small wind installations?

Combining wind turbines with solar panels makes it possible to generate energy around the clock: during the day and sunny hours, energy is produced by the solar panels, and at night the turbines harness the wind.

For domestic or industrial wind energy installations, we usually work with turbines from 3 kW to 60 kW.

What are the benefits of combining solar and wind energy?

When is a small wind installation worthwhile?

At Voltaic we have systems and technology that let us identify areas with an annual average wind speed of 5 m/s, the threshold for a wind system to be profitable. If we can identify these spots, we can install the technology needed for optimal performance.

Wind turbines last more than 25 years, very similar to solar PV installations. That is why at Voltaic we combine both energy sources whenever the climate allows.

If you’d like to know whether you can combine your solar installation with a wind energy installation, contact us and Voltaic’s technicians will carry out the necessary studies so you can make the right decision.
